Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov has received the newly appointed Belarusian Ambassador to Azerbaijan, Dmitry Pinevich, Report informs, citing Azerbaijan’s Foreign Ministry.

Dmitry Pinevich, appointed as the new Belarusian Ambassador to Azerbaijan, has presented a copy of his credentials to Minister Jeyhun Bayramov.

Minister Bayramov, in turn, congratulated the newly appointed ambassador and wished him success in his diplomatic mission.

During the meeting, the parties discussed issues on the current bilateral and multilateral cooperation agenda between Azerbaijan and Belarus. They also talked about the prospects for developing the strategic partnership between the two countries, as well as various aspects of bilateral and multilateral cooperation.

The importance of high-level contacts, mutual visits, and dialogues held at international platforms in strengthening interstate relations was noted. It was emphasized that the visit of Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko to the liberated territories as part of his state visit to Azerbaijan on May 17, 2024, is a high indicator of the strategic partnership between the countries.

The existing cooperation between Azerbaijan and Belarus in various fields, including political, economic, trade, scientific, educational, cultural, tourism, and other areas, was noted to be satisfactory. The steps taken to expand economic and trade relations between Azerbaijan and Belarus, in particular, have significantly contributed to the development of bilateral relations.

The sides further highlighted the importance of the role of the joint intergovernmental commission on trade and economic cooperation between Azerbaijan and Belarus towards cooperation in the economic, trade and investment spheres.

They noted that both countries closely cooperate in regional and international organizations, including the UN, the CIS, and the Non-Aligned Movement. And the significance of continuing mutual support within these organizations was emphasized.

Dmitry Pinevich expressed his satisfaction with starting his diplomatic mission in the country and conveyed his gratitude for the warm welcome. He noted that he would make efforts to further develop cooperation between the two nations.

During the meeting, views were also exchanged on other issues of mutual interest.
