A statue and park bearing the name of prominent Azerbaijani statesman, writer and doctor Nariman Narimanov will be restored in the center of Marneuli district of Georgia, Mayor of Marneuli Zaur Dargalli told local Bureau of Report.

According to him, it is planned to restore all parks in the district. During repair and restoration works, objects located in the territory of the parks will be taken into account. A competition will be held for these works. In order to implement the projects submitted to the competition, a tender will be announced. By the end of 2020, it is planned to complete the restoration of all parks in Marneuli.”

Notably, last month Narimanov’s statue in Marneuli fell into an even more disastrous state. Several marble tablets on the pedestal of the monument, that was erected in 1980, broke off, cracks appeared in the foundation. The park, where the monument was arected, needs repair and restoration work and landscaping.
