The development of cooperation in transport and logistics is a priority for mutual activity between the member states of Organization of Turkic States (OTS), said Murat Karimsakov, Chairman of the Board of the Chamber of International Commerce of Kazakhstan, Report informs.

He announced this at the event titled “Turkic Investment Fund and Union of Turkic Chambers of Commerce and Industry (TCCI): Information Meeting and B2B for Business Leaders” held in Baku.

The chairman noted that amid global economic challenges, business holds a crucial role in ensuring sustainable development of the OTS countries’ economies.

“Today, it is extremely important to build effective mechanisms for trade and economic cooperation within the OTS, strengthen investment cooperation, and unite business efforts. This will create a solid foundation for the sustainable development of our economies,” Karimsakov said.

According to him, special attention should be paid to the development of cooperation in transport and logistics, e-commerce and infrastructure modernization, as well as deepening cooperation in technological areas.

Additionally, deep processing of agricultural products, petrochemicals, and gas chemistry remain promising directions, the official added.

“All necessary conditions should be created for attracting investments and forming a favorable investment environment. One of the main tasks of OTS is the development of high-tech sectors, stimulation of innovative activities, and implementation of advanced technologies. In this regard, the Turkic Investment Fund will play an important role as a financial support tool for strategic initiatives and projects,” Karimsakov emphasized.

He further highlighted that the significant economic, geographical, and demographic potential possessed by Turkic states can be a powerful driver for the development of the entire region.
