Aviation accounts for about 2% of global carbon emissions, and the sector has grown faster than rail, road and sea transport in recent decades, Mukhtar Babayev, Minister of Ecology and Natural Resources of Azerbaijan, COP29 President-Designate said at the 28th Annual General Meeting of the Civil Air Navigation Services Organisation (CANSO), Report informs.

“We should ensure that COP29 becomes a success story for everyone. For this purpose, interaction is actively established with all countries and interested parties. The COP29 presidency has already visited various parts of the world, including Africa, the small island states of the Caribbean, Central Asia, Europe and North America, to listen to all views,” he said.
