An event on “The historical role of world religions in formation of various cultural practices, tolerant coexistence policy and implementation of multiculturalism ideas” was held within the 5th Baku International Humanitarian Forum.

Mubariz Gurbanli, Chairman of State Committee for Work with Religious Organizations, spoke about the importance of the forum and underlined the greatest value to the multiculturalism in Azerbaijan. The committee chairman noted that Azerbaijan is a model country in this field.

Writer Olzhas Suleimenov spoke about the importance of tolerance and its role in the establishment of global peace.

State adviser Kamal Abdulla said more countries are expected to join the Baku Forum in the future.

“I hope that this forum will contribute to normalizing relations between peoples. I want to express my gratitude to all representatives of participating countries, scientists, religious figures who arrived in Azerbaijan to share their thoughts with us,” he said.
