The upcoming COP29 Ministerial Meeting, following its commencement in China, is set to continue its work in the city of Shamakhi, Azerbaijan, Elnur Soltanov, the Executive Director of COP29, said during a presentation titled “Solidarity for a Green World – COP29” at the 2nd Shusha Global Media Forum.

“This meeting is of utmost importance,” Soltanov emphasized. “It begins its work in China and will continue in Shamakhi. We have further meetings planned for September and a preparatory committee meeting thereafter. The COP29 negotiations are progressing successfully, and we hope to maintain this accelerated pace.”

Soltanov outlined the key agenda items for COP29, which include climate financing, Article 6 of the Paris Agreement, the loss and damage fund, transition phase programs, global adaptation, and a new model for climate financing.
