Azerbaijan’s initiative called “Culture and Climate Cooperation” will be presented and announced for the first time at COP29, Azerbaijan’s Minister of Culture Adil Karimli told journalists on the sidelines of COP29, according to Report.

“On November 15, culture ministers from different countries will gather here in Azerbaijan to discuss issues of cultural heritage and climate. In particular, this topic stems from last year’s COP28 conference, which discussed measures to combat climate change and the negative impact of climate change on cultural heritage. However, in Azerbaijan, we will move forward, and a slightly different topic will be discussed here, including the cultural context designed to have a positive impact on climate change,” said Karimli.

The minister also expressed hope that cultural content will become part of the issues and discussions related to climate change, as well as the measures that need to be taken to easily achieve global goals.
