Azerbaijan and Belarus need to establish joint ventures in the fields of medicine, energy, woodworking, and light industry, Mikhail Rusy, the head of the working group of the National Assembly of Belarus for cooperation with the Parliament of Azerbaijan, said.

According to Report, Rusy emphasized that relations between the countries are at a high level.

He outlined promising directions for further development of cooperation between Minsk and Baku.

“We need joint ventures in medicine, energy, woodworking, footwear, and light industry. These are niches that we must occupy,” Rusy stated. He also highlighted the development of the agro-industrial complex as a separate point of focus, stressing the need for close cooperation in fruit and vegetable production. “The climate is changing, and new crops are taking over our fields. I think we will discuss all these issues during the current visit and in the future,” he added.

Rusy also mentioned that medical professionals had requested joint production of medical preparations.

Another topic that has been raised repeatedly and requires serious advancement, according to Rusy, is cooperation in the petrochemical industry and the production of complex fertilizers. “We have developed technologies in Belarus – both at the Belarusian Potash Company and at the Gomel Chemical Plant. We can create mineral fertilizers for any crop or fruit,” he noted.
