Former Spanish judges and prosecutors have filed a joint lawsuit in the Supreme Court against Honorary King Juan Carlos I, accusing him of five tax crimes.
According to RTVE broadcasting company, as reported by Report, the plaintiffs claim that the former head of state’s attempts to resolve tax issues through payments during 2014-2018 do not comply with legal requirements, as these payments were made after Juan Carlos I was notified of the ongoing investigation. Specifically, the honorary king had previously paid tax arrears amounting to over 600,000 euros and an additional sum of approximately 4.4 million euros.
