Hosting the 29th session of the Conference of the Parties to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP29), Azerbaijan is setting an example for other oil and gas countries by harmonizing energy security and climate issues, Kimberly D. Harrington, Deputy Assistant Secretary of State for the Bureau of Energy Resources, said Thursday in a meeting with Minister of Energy Parviz Shahbazov in Baku, Report informs.

Harrington visited Azerbaijan to participate in the 10th meeting of the Southern Gas Corridor Advisory Council and the 2nd Green Energy Advisory Council Ministerial Meeting, which will be held in Baku on March 1.

At the meeting, satisfaction was expressed over the continuation of the long-term successful energy partnership between the two countries. The role of the Southern Gas Corridor in ensuring Europe’s energy security during the energy crisis was noted, and the current situation regarding the expansion of this project was reviewed.
