The Khankandi-Baku ultramarathon, organized by the Ministry of Youth and Sports together with the Azerbaijan Athletics Federation, has started for the first time in Azerbaijan.

According to a Report employee from Khankandi, the participants began the first competition in Khankandi with the slogan “Forward with pride.”

Ultramarathon participants, covering the stages Khankandi – Yevlakh (83 kilometers), Yevlakh – Ujar (84 kilometers), Ujar – Hajigabul (88 kilometers), Hajigabul – Gobustan (70 kilometers) and Gobustan – Baku (55 kilometers), will arrive in Baku on March 4.

A total of 64 athletes are participating in the ultramarathon. Among them are representatives of Türkiye (5 people), Mexico (4 people) and Moldova (1 person).

The winners of each stage will be awarded separately, and the overall winners will receive the main prize.
