The Industry and Construction Ministry of Kazakhstan, JSC NC KazMunayGas (KMG) and PJSC Lukoil have signed a memorandum on the Kalamkas-Khazar project, according to the KMG’s press service, Report informs via Kazakh media.

“The project includes the construction of two offshore ice-resistant stationary platforms, an onshore processing facility, and offshore linear facilities connecting the platforms with onshore infrastructure,” the company’s statement says.

One of the important aspects of the project is that the construction of offshore platforms will be implemented at Kazakhstani shipyards for the first time, which will contribute to the development of domestic shipbuilding and the oil and gas industry.

Currently, project documentation (FEED stage, Front End Engineering Design) is being developed in accordance with international standards, with subsequent adaptation to Kazakhstan’s legislative and technical requirements.

Kalamkas-Khazar Operating LLP is a joint venture between KMG and Lukoil, established for the development of the Kalamkas-sea and Khazar fields.
