In a recent statement to Report, Beksultan Akhbeloglu, the chief specialist of Kazakhstan’s national shipping company Kazmor Transflot, emphasized Azerbaijan’s indispensable role in transit routes.
“The existence of a transit line would be impossible without Azerbaijan. We work in close cooperation,” Akhbeloglu noted.
He highlighted Azerbaijan’s substantial efforts and investments in modernizing infrastructure, improving container transit along the route, strengthening port infrastructure, constructing new cranes and railway lines, and increasing cargo turnover. These initiatives have positioned Azerbaijan as a critical player in the global trade network.
The chief specialist believes that the transit line from Kazakhstan, Georgia, and Türkiye has the potential to become the main route of the Silk Road. “Azerbaijan is located in a historically and geographically significant region, through which all global cargo has always passed,” he added.
