Vice Minister of Transport Talgat Lastayev has revealed the amount of funds Kazakhstan needs to build international air hubs in its territory, Report informs via Kazinform.
Earlier, Kazinform said that Kazakhstan plans to create six international air hubs on the grounds of Astana, Almaty, Aktau, Aktobe, Karaganda and Shymkent airports.
As part of their modernization, five key measures will be launched to renovate infrastructure and facilitate logistics processes, Lastayev noted.
“To implement these projects, we plan to attract $2.1 billion of private investment,” he said at the Government’s meeting.
For instance, a full-fledged multimodal hub is set to be established in Aktau, which will be used for the transportation of cargo by aviation, automobile, railroad and maritime transport. The multi-modal hub will include a technical center for aircraft maintenance and repair, as well as a specialist training center.
