
Today, the Transport Ministries of Kazakhstan and Latvia signed a Memorandum on the development of the Trans-Caspian International Transport Route (TITR, Middle Corridor), the Ministry of Transport of Kazakhstan told Report.
“Kazakhstan’s Transport Minister Marat Karabayev met with his Latvian counterpart Kaspars Briskens. At the meeting, views were exchanged on the current situation and development prospects of the transport sector in Kazakhstan and Latvia. In addition, a Memorandum on the development of TITR was signed,” reads the statement.
Karabayev noted that Kazakhstan and Latvia are actively developing transit and transport cooperation.
According to the Minister of Kazakhstan, today the Middle Corridor has a special role as an alternative to other routes:
“This is proven by the doubling of the volume of cargo transportation at the end of 2023.
