“I am resting at home now in Zagreb. I have some offers from abroad. But I’m not in a hurry to make a decision. Many questions will be clarified soon,” Former Azerbaijani football coach Nikola Jurčević said.

Report informs that the Croatian specialist said he was aware of AFFA’s search for a new head coach for the team: “I do not know who the candidates are. I can only say that if AFFA is looking for a local specialist, I can recommend my national assistant, Arif Asadov. Asadov is a very reliable person and a good coach. He is experienced, he was a football player, knows the current members of the national team. I think he deserves to manage the team.”

Nikola Jurčević, who was appointed head coach of Azerbaijan on February 11, 2019, resigned on December 13 of the same year by the decision of the AFFA Executive Committee.
