Participants at the 28th Conference of the Parties to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP28) raised more than $1 billion in grant funding to reduce methane emissions, the US Presidential Special Representative for Climate Affairs John Kerry said, Report informs.

Kerry said that at COP28, the United States, the European Union, other governments, charity organizations and the private sector have mobilized more than $1 billion in new grants to combat methane emissions.

According to him, part of the funds will be provided to developing and least developed countries.
