Japan’s Prime Minister Fumio Kishida says he will call on China to act responsibly on the Ukraine crisis, Report informs referring to NHK.
Beijing issued a document last month that urges Russia and Ukraine to seek dialogue and a ceasefire.
Kishida added that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy told him it would be inappropriate if the withdrawal of all Russian forces from Ukraine is not stipulated. He said Zelenskyy found both agreeable and disagreeable points in the document.
Kishida made the remarks on March 27 when he reported his recent visit to Ukraine during an Upper House plenary session.
He said Russia has shown no signs of concession as it continues to attack Ukraine.
The prime minister went on to say that it is up to the Ukrainian people whether they will start negotiations that would determine their country’s future.
