At least 763 people were hospitalized in Japan between September 25 and October 1 with heatstroke due to the heat, setting a record for that time of year, according to the country’s Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications, which oversees the work of rescue services, Report informs referring to TASS.

It is noted that one of those hospitalized died, another 202 victims were in a condition of moderate severity. About half of those admitted to hospitals with similar symptoms were people over the age of 65.
