Italy will contribute €100 million to a new fund to compensate developing countries for losses and damage from climate change, which was established on the sidelines of the 28th Conference of the Parties to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP28), Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni said while speaking at the World Climate Action Summit organized as part of COP28.

“Italy will contribute €100 million to the Loss & Damage Fund to help the poorest and most vulnerable countries overcome natural disasters,” she said.
