During bilateral discussions held on Saturday in the Moroccan capital, Rabat, Iraqi Foreign Minister Fuad Hussein and Moroccan Foreign Minister Nasser Bourita denounced US President Donald Trump’s intention to force Palestinians out of Gaza, Report informs via Iraqi News.

Both parties underlined their support for the Palestinian people’s rights, which include the establishment of an independent state with Jerusalem as its capital, according to a statement released by the Iraqi Foreign Ministry.

Hussein and Bourita reaffirmed their opposition to any measures that would relocate the Palestinians and emphasized the need to maintain the ceasefire deal in Gaza.

Earlier, Iraq’s Foreign Ministry called on the international community to intervene forcefully against attempts to drive out Palestinians and protect their right to live in safety and dignity.

In a press conference with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Tuesday, US President Donald Trump announced a plan to drive Palestinians out of Gaza and turn the area into what he called the ‘Riviera of the Middle East.’

Under the proposal, over two million residents in the Gaza Strip would be relocated to neighboring countries, primarily Egypt and Jordan.
