It is important to strengthen cooperation between the State Committee for Work with Religious Organizations and the Islamic Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (ICESCO) in promoting peaceful coexistence, ICESCO Director General Salim bin Mohammed Al-Malik said at the opening ceremony of the international conference “Interreligious Harmony: Promoting Peaceful Coexistence” in Morocco.

According to Report, he noted that thanks to President Ilham Aliyev’s activities, Azerbaijan today demonstrates a unique example of interfaith solidarity, national unity, spiritual unity, and religious-cultural diversity.

The Chairman of the State Committee for Work with Religious Organizations, Ramin Mammadov, noted that the peoples of Azerbaijan and Morocco are united by common cultural and religious values, as well as aspirations for peace and tranquility and desire to develop peaceful cooperation.

He expressed confidence that the event, organized jointly with ICESCO, will have special significance in terms of promoting and advancing the achievements and practices in this direction: “Our country attaches special importance to cooperation with ICESCO, which does great work in developing science, education and preserving rich cultural heritage in the Islamic world.”
