The Icelandic Foreign Ministry has summoned the Russian ambassador in Reykjavik to inform him of the closure of the Icelandic embassy in Russia from August 1, Report informs referring to Russian media.

Iceland also demanded that the Russian Federation “reduce the scale of activities in Reykjavik” and lower the status of the diplomatic mission.

At the same time, the Icelandic Foreign Ministry said that this was not a break in diplomatic relations. Iceland will work to reopen the embassy.
