The potential possibility of France providing weapons and military equipment to Armenia will have a negative effect on stability and security in the region, Media Director of Global Media Group Hamid Hamidov said in an interview with the CBC TV channel, Report informs.
He noted that these statements by France about the provision of military equipment are pure populism: “This is first of all dangerous, since Türkiye, which is a NATO member, neighbors Armenia. And Türkiye is unlikely to welcome this step of France.”
Hamidov emphasized that France has been taking a completely one-sided pro-Armenian position for a couple of years now, so there is nothing surprising in these latest French statements.
“France is losing its position in the international arena. It is deteriorating both in the EU and in the international arena… It is trying to show that it is still an empire, but all this is meaningless,” he added.
The media director of Global Media Group also suggested that Armenia ratified the Rome Statute under the instruction of France and the US, which shows that Armenia is a bargaining chip in the hands of the West and France in the confrontation with Russia.
