The funeral of Ismail Haniyeh, the head of the Hamas Political Bureau who died in Tehran, took place at a cemetery in the city of Lusail, north of Doha, Qatar. The ceremony, attended by Qatari officials, royal family members, and Haniyeh’s family, drew thousands of mourners.
Among the dignitaries present were Mohammad-Reza Aref, Iran’s First Vice President, and Hakan Fidan, Türkiye’s Foreign Minister. The large gathering of state officials, primarily from Islamic countries, prompted heightened security measures at the event.
