“The crime committed against the Embassy of Azerbaijan in Iran can neither be explained nor justified. Although some say that it was the crime of a terrorist, I think it requires a thorough investigation, Mikhail Gusman, the First Deputy Director-General of the TASS Information Agency, told Report’s Moscow bureau.
He stressed the importance of a thorough investigation of this crime by the Iranian authorities.
“What was the reason for this incident? Is anyone behind the criminal? Did he have an accomplice? Who gave him the gun? I don’t think Kalashnikov assault rifles are sold in stores in Tehran. All this raises big questions. If we imagine the anti-Azerbaijani hysteria that has been going on for a long time in the Iranian media, we can say that all this is very sad,” Gusman emphasized.
