
Azerbaijan has made progress in combating trafficking in human beings, says a new report of the Council of Europe’s Group of Experts on Action against Trafficking in Human Beings (GRETA), according to Report.
“According to the report, progress had been made in certain areas, such as further developing the legislative, institutional and policy framework for combating trafficking in human beings, raising awareness and providing training to relevant professionals. Moreover, Azerbaijan has strengthened the human and financial resources of the Assistance Centre for victims of human trafficking. GRETA also welcomes the increase in the number of sentences issued in human trafficking cases,” the report says.
