A “Green” university should be created in Azerbaijan, which would help form the qualified personnel base necessary to ensure the “green” transition, Doctor of Economic Sciences, Professor Zahid Mammadov said in an interview with Report.
According to him, today humanity faces an important task of efficient use of natural resources and ensuring a “green” transition in a short time.
“To implement this mission, we need professional personnel, of which there are currently few in Azerbaijan. There is a shortage of specialists in green banking and insurance in the country. In this sense, the creation of a green university in Azerbaijan is a necessity. On the one hand, this will help eliminate the ‘personnel shortage’ hunger, and on the other hand, instill a ‘green’ culture in society,” the professor believes.
Mammadov said that Azerbaijan has an extensive historical heritage associated with the “Green World,” and it should be reflected in books.
