Germany supports the humanitarian ceasefire reached between Azerbaijan and Armenia in connection with the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, the press service of the German Foreign Ministry said in a statement.

“The German government welcomes the ceasefire agreement reached between Armenia and Azerbaijan in Moscow for humanitarian purposes and calls on both sides to adhere to the ceasefire and prevent new casualties at any cost.

We welcome the readiness of both countries to start meaningful talks on the basic principles of the settlement through the mediation of the OSCE Minsk Group co-chairs.

We call on Armenia and Azerbaijan to work intensively for a lasting and peaceful settlement of the conflict, “the statement reads.
