Georgia has imposed temporary travel restrictions on its land border with Azerbaijan due to coronavirus risks.

The limit will be valid for two weeks, the Azerbaijani Embassy in Georgia told Report.

The embassy received no information on whether or not there are Azerbaijani citizens among those who were placed in the Tbilisi Hospital of Infectious Diseases with suspected coronavirus.

Yesterday, Georgia reported the first case of infection. A 50-year-old Georgian citizen, who returned from Iran through Azerbaijan, was tested positive for the virus. His condition is now stable.

Iran has the highest reported number of deaths from the coronavirus outside China. The country earlier confirmed cases of infection in 10 provinces, including Tehran, Qom, Gilan, Mazandaran, Semnan, Alborz, Isfahan, Central Hamadan, and Khorasan Razavi.
