
The Georgian authorities will not allow the country’s enemies to cause unrest; all of them will be punished, Prime Minister of Georgia Irakli Garibashvili said, Report informs via Sputnik-Georgia.
On September 18, the State Security Service of Georgia (SSS) announced that unrest was being prepared in the country with the aim of a coup in October-December 2023, when the country is waiting for a decision on obtaining candidate status for accession to the EU. According to the statement of the State Security Service of Georgia, the unrest is planned with the coordination and financial support of foreign countries.
“I want to say unequivocally that we will not allow any nonentities and enemies operating inside or outside the country to bring any unrest into the country. Everyone will be demonstrably punished. Let everyone remember this well,” Garibashvili said.
According to the prime minister, the State Security Service has more information than they considered appropriate to disclose to the public at the moment.
“The fact that certain radical groups have tried and are trying to cause destabilization, disorder and chaos is not news. Of course, these people – I mean Mikheil Saakashvili and radical anarchist groups – have never succeeded and will never succeed,” said the prime minister
