The Turkish and Azerbaijani parliaments have been far ahead of Western countries in terms of privileges given to women, Fuat Oktay, Chairman of the Foreign Relations Committee of the Grand National Assembly of Türkiye, told journalists in Baku, Report informs.

Oktay highlighted that this progress stems from traditions: “Women will continue playing the role as decision-makers in all areas of administration.”

He explained that in Türkiye, the tradition of parliament and consultation dates back to the history of Turkism.
