The Moldovan government will sign a defense cooperation agreement with France.

Report informs via TASS that the corresponding draft decision was included in the agenda of the government meeting scheduled for February 21.

“We hereby approve the signing of an agreement between the government of the Republic of Moldova and the government of the French Republic on defense cooperation,” says a document published on the government’s website.

Previously, France supplied Moldova with a Ground Master (GM) 200 tactical radar to monitor the country’s airspace, and also donated a batch of military equipment. The purchased radar, according to the Ministry of Defense, was unable to detect the drone, the wreckage of which was found in February in the south of the republic near the border with Ukraine. However, the parliamentary majority party said that Moldova intends to purchase additional radars.
