The discussions between the leadership of Azerbaijan and Armenia organized by the European Union were amid significant aspects, i.e., the fate of missing persons, prospects for humanitarian assistance, and demining process, Executive Director of the Center for Global and Strategic Studies (CGSS, Pakistan) Khalid Taimur Akram told Report.
“It is commendable that Azerbaijan has remained true to the cause of freedom and peaceful resolution of the conflict. Thus, the visionary leadership has offered to commence communications and regional connectivity through the Zangazur corridor. I believe that the transport connectivity would open new ways for economic expansion as well as resolve common challenges. These efforts from Azerbaijan and its dynamic leadership must be highlighted and praised globally,” he said.
The expert noted that “without any foreign financial aid, Azerbaijan has already started the process of resettlement of the liberated cities. We are proud of our brotherly country, Azerbaijan, for liberating as well as making its cities digitalized.”
“Armenia, on the other hand, must provide maps of the mines and cooperate with Azerbaijan. The leadership in Yerevan must take regional peace and security agreements seriously and work for a better future with a shared forward-looking spirit,” he said. “The European Union can support in this aspect and enhance colossal efforts in order to provide a neutral platform to Azerbaijan and Armenia for interstate cooperation.”
