The statement of the UN mission following its visit to the Karabakh region of Azerbaijan made it absolutely clear that there is no persecution of Armenians or “ethnic cleansing” against them, replicated by the Armenian authorities and Western media – the people who left Karabakh did so of their own free will, US journalist, national security analyst, lawyer Irina Tsukerman told Report.
“Indeed, this is the most convincing evidence that there is no political, cultural or religious oppression on the part of Baku, contrary to the claims of the Armenian lobby in the West. It is difficult to argue with this statement. Nevertheless, the smear campaign continues,” she said.
She noted that Azerbaijan needs to conduct a large-scale campaign highlighting what is really happening, telling that Baku was forced to put an end to terrorist activities on its territory.
