After ratifying the Rome Statute, Armenia faced the threat of losing sovereignty, said Russian political expert Evgeny Mikhailov, the Russian bureau of Report informs.
He noted that Armenia’s ratification of the Rome Statute is unacceptable, it is “a spit in the direction of Russia.”
“Yerevan must understand that it is taking sharp steps towards losing its own sovereignty. Without Russia, Armenia will not exist, only the Russian Federation can help this country,” Mikhailov said.
The expert noted that Baku is Moscow’s main ally in the South Caucasus: “Russia has an ally in this region. Now it is clear that this is Azerbaijan. Russian peacekeepers, together with the Azerbaijani military, ensure the security of the peaceful Armenian population in Karabakh.”
