The European Union (EU) is “willing to discuss the relief of sanctions’ on Syria, Kaja Kallas, the High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy and Vice-President of the European Commission, said in an interview with Anadolu Agency, Report informs.
“It’s very early still to tell. We want to see the inclusiveness of the government in Syria. We want to see no radicalization. I think this is in the interest of everybody that it’s a stable country. So we are cautiously optimistic and willing to discuss the relief of sanctions, but do it by, you know, a step-by-step approach. I mean, if they do the right things, we are willing to do steps on our side,” Kallas highlighted.
She also stressed, “If they do, you know, steps that go to the wrong direction, then we are also willing to take a step back and put some sanctions back.”
