The participation of the European Union (EU) in talks regarding Ukraine is excluded, however, Brussels could play a role in resolving the conflict by halting military and other aid to Kyiv, Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Alexander Grushko told journalists, Report informs via Interfax.
“Currently, there are no signs of progress in relations with Europe. It is surprising that EU countries and Europeans are demanding a seat at the negotiating table for the resolution of the Ukrainian conflict,” Grushko stated.
He highlighted that European policy has primarily focused on preventing the conflict from ending through political and diplomatic means, instead striving for a complete victory over Russia and its strategic defeat.
“This effectively excludes any role for the EU and European countries in future negotiations regarding the conflict in Ukraine,” the deputy minister said.
