On October 7 in Prague, EU leaders are discussing the situation with the sharp rise in energy prices and possible ways to mitigate their impact, as well as providing military support to Ukraine, Report informs citing foreign media.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy will join the summit online.

EU leaders gathered in the capital of the Czech Republic as part of the European Political Community summit, along with other issues, are also discussing strengthening the protection of their transport infrastructures after leaks from the Nord Stream 1 and 2 gas pipelines.

Head of the European Commission Ursula von der Leyen said that only joint actions of the EU countries can reduce energy costs for families and businesses, as well as ensure energy security for this and coming winters.
