Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has called for urgent “inclusive and comprehensive” reforms at the UN Security Council, Report informs referring to the Anadolu Agency.

The Turkish leader made such an appeal during the Iftar dinner on the occasion of the holy month of Ramadan, organized at the presidential palace in Ankara for foreign ambassadors accredited in the Turkish capital.

He emphasized the imperfection of the current world order, which limits the fate of mankind.

“The world order, where only five countries decide the fate of mankind, is incapacitated. A comprehensive reform of the UN Council is urgently needed,” Erdogan said.

Touching upon the prospects for settling the Ukrainian crisis, the head of state expressed confidence in the possibility of establishing a just peace between Russia and Ukraine.

He noted that the achievement of this goal “will provide the parties with a worthy way out of the current situation and will lead the region out of the whirlpool into which it has been drawn.”
