
The policy of increasing the areas of forests in Türkiye and expanding green areas in the cities of the country remains unchanged, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said in his address via videoconference to the participants of the opening ceremony of nine park complexes “Gardens of the Nation” in the country’s regions, Report informs via Anadolu.
The opening ceremony of the zones in the provinces of Adiyaman, Giresun, Duzce, Bursa, Bolu, Afyonkarahisar, Adana, Sivas and Erzincan was timed to the “Turkish Environment Week”.
According to the Turkish leader, the authorities plan to increase the number of “Gardens of the Nation” to 500, which will eventually change the look of the country’s 81 provinces.
“The number of park complexes “Gardens of the Nation” in Türkiye will reach 500, of which 189 have already been handed to citizens of the country, and construction of 137 continues. The environment: sky, sea and earth is our heritage. We must treat the environment with care, actively instill a love for nature in society,” the president said.
