
Azerbaijan is conducting negotiations on goods and services with 19 World Trade Organization (WTO) members, including the US, the EU, Norway, Switzerland, Russia, China, Canada, India, Malaysia, Indonesia, South Korea, Argentina, Brazil and Saudi Arabia, Report informs referring to the Ministry of Economy.
“As part of WTO membership, bilateral negotiations discuss import tariffs on commodity nomenclature and market access issues for various service sectors, while multilateral negotiations cover the trade regime, including technical regulations and other issues,” reads the statement.
Azerbaijan has held observer status in the World Trade Organization since 1997. It began negotiations with WTO member countries in 2004. On January 13-14 of this year, the first round of bilateral negotiations between Azerbaijan and China took place in Baku.
