In preparation for the upcoming international climate conference COP29, the Baku Metro has announced the deployment of volunteers at 10 key stations.
Hidayat Mammadov, Deputy Head of the Baku Metro CJSC, revealed the list of stations during a briefing on the metro’s operations during the festive days and the COP29 period.
According to Mammadov, volunteers will be stationed at the following metro stations: Koroghlu, Nariman Narimanov, Ganjlik, 28 May, Sahil, Icharishahar, Nizami, Elmlar Akademiyasi, Inshaatchilar, and 20 January. These stations are strategically chosen to provide assistance to passengers attending the COP29 conference.
The COP29 Azerbaijan Operations Company has carefully selected and trained a team of 100 volunteers who will work in shifts until November 22. Their primary role will be to guide foreign passengers and local citizens who rarely use the metro, providing them with information on routes to the COP29 venue and the rules of using the metro system.
