The conference on the legal aspects of crimes of ethnic cleansing and genocide in the context of historical facts dated to March 31 – Day of Genocide of Azerbaijanis has kicked off in Guba.
Report informs that the participants of the conference organized by the Ombudsman’s Office of Azerbaijan, Western Azerbaijan Community and Guba district Executive Power have visited the monument of National Leader Heydar Aliyev in Guba and laid flowers to it.
They also visited the Guba Memorial Complex of Genocide and paid tribute to memory of victims of those events.
The conference, which is attended by Ombudsman Sabina Aliyeva, chairman of the Western Azerbaijan Community Aziz Alakbarli, head of the executive power of the Guba region Ziyaddin Aliyev and other officials, was organized at the Heydar Aliyev Center in Guba.
Nimet Ozkaya Sevim, Deputy Head of the Turkish Agency for Human Rights and Equality, and Yusuf Sayin, Associate Professor at Necmeddin Erbakan University, will join the conference through video-conferencing.
