The Council of Interior Ministers of the CIS countries held a meeting to address the pressing issues of countering extremism and terrorism.

According to Report, which cites TASS, the ministers adopted a resolution to strengthen cooperation and implement effective measures to prevent terrorist attacks and loss of innocent lives.

According to the Minister of Internal Affairs of Belarus, Ivan Kubrakov, the discussion on counterterrorism was extensive and resulted in the development of proactive solutions. “Our task is to devise measures and decisions that will allow us to work on prevention, to avoid the loss of life and the commission of crimes,” he emphasized.

The meeting also covered 13 other critical issues, including combating cybercrime and drug trafficking. “The decisions made today require the immediate adoption of additional measures,” Kubrakov stated.
