The issue of girls’ education should not be limited to individual development and family interests, said Bahar Muradova, the Chairperson of the State Committee for Family, Women and Children Affairs of Azerbaijan, Report informs.

Speaking at the conference themed “Girls’ Right to Education” held at Baku State University, Muradova underscored that girls’ education is vital for societal progress and economic empowerment, viewing it as an investment in the future.

She emphasized that family interventions, as well as financial difficulties, are usually obstacles to girls’ education:

“However, the public and relevant institutions should make joint efforts to combat such situations, expand awareness-raising and campaigning in the media, and jointly respond to the challenges posed by the new era.”

The chairperson also highlighted the goal of promoting girls’ admission to higher education institutions, supporting their academic development, and ensuring gender equality in education through partnerships with relevant organizations.
