The Belgian Cabinet has approved a draft decision banning the re-export of liquefied natural gas (LNG) from Russia in accordance with the EU sanctions imposed earlier, the government’s press service said, Report informs via RIA Novosti.

“The draft royal decree provides for a number of obligations and control mechanisms designed to ensure compliance with bans within the framework of EU Regulation 2024/1745,” the document says.

The decision of the Belgian government provides for a ban on the transshipment of LNG from Russia, as well as the provision of related technical or financial services.

This decision has yet to be approved by the Belgian Council of State, which monitors compliance with Belgian laws.
