The position of parliament is very important for society, and the opinion of parliament on the prospects for cooperation between Belarus and Azerbaijan in the coming years is very valuable, Prime Minister of Belarus Roman Golovchenko said during a meeting with Chairperson of Azerbaijani Parliament Sahiba Gafarova in Minsk, Report informs referring to BelTA.

According to Golovchenko, recent months can rightfully be called months of Belarusian-Azerbaijani cooperation. “Following the official visit of President of Belarus [Alexander Lukashenko] to Azerbaijan, a whole series of events took place, including my meeting with Prime Minister of the country [Ali Asadov],” he noted.

The head of the Belarusian government emphasized that Sahiba Gafarova’s visit to Belarus is very important and valuable, because the so-called parliamentary dimension is “gaining increasing momentum.”

“We see in your visit an important moment for strengthening the Belarusian-Azerbaijani friendship and with great warmth and cordiality we welcome you in our country,” Golovchenko noted. “Your opinion about the prospects for our work in the coming years is very valuable. We are obliged to convert our warm and fraternal relations in the trade and economic plane.”
