The Center for Analysis of Economic Reforms and Communication (CAERC), will host the Global Think Tanks Forum in Baku on November 16, 2024, Report informs, citing the CAERC.
Organized in collaboration with the Asian Development Bank (ADB), the Asian Development Bank Institute (ADBI), and the Central Asia Regional Economic Cooperation Program Institute (CAREC Institute), the Forum will focus on the theme, “Global Green Economy: Climate Action, Financing, and Innovation.”
This gathering will bring together representatives from the most influential think tanks within the T20 network, as well as scientists, government officials, parliamentarians, private sector leaders, Non-Governmental Organizations, and other key stakeholders.
The Global Think Tanks Forum aims to foster greater understanding of climate change impacts, facilitate inter-country dialogue, and drive actions that support the implementation of the Paris Agreement. Additionally, the Forum will enhance Azerbaijan’s global reputation and strategic position within the international think tank community in the context of COP29.
Notable speakers at the Forum will include Prof. Dr. Vusal Gasimli, Executive Director of CAERC; Dr. Tetsushi Sonobe, CEO of the ADBI; Prof. Bambang Brodjonegoro, Special Advisor to the President of the Republic of Indonesia; Nicolas Bushoud, Senior Advisor to the Executive Director of ADBI; Dr. Shen Xiaomeng from the UN University – Institute for Environment and Human Security; Amar Bhattacharya, Senior Fellow, Brookings Institutions; and Dr. Adil Najam, President of the WWF International, among other prominent thought leaders and scholars.
The first session will focus on “Global Pathways to Sustainability: Mitigation, Adaptation, and Energy Transition,” followed by a second session on “Green Finance for Global Climate Resilience: Strategies and Innovations.” The Forum will be held in a hybrid format at the CAERC headquarters.
