Rovshan Rustamov, the chairman of ADY, met with Yang Bin, the president of China Railway Container Transport Corp. Ltd. (CRCT). They discussed CRCT joining the Middle Corridor Multimodal Ltd., a joint venture of the railways of Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, and Georgia. This significant event will be highlighted at the 8th International Silk Road Expo in Xi’an on September 19-20.

The meeting noted that recent developments have restored the movement of container block trains from China, with 212 trains sent to Azerbaijan since the beginning of 2024. The delivery time to Baku port is 8-10 days, and to Black Sea ports is 10-12 days.

The Chinese side expressed satisfaction with these results and stated that CRCT’s participation in the joint venture will contribute to increasing cargo volumes through the Middle Corridor.

Additionally, on September 19-20, discussions on establishing the new Eurasian Transport Route International Association will be held in Baku. This initiative by ADY will involve Chinese, Central Asian, and European railway operators, focusing on developing the southern wing of the Middle Corridor and ensuring efficient, fast, safe, and structured cargo transportation between China, Central Asia, and Europe.
